Instructions on Manuscript Submission
- MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
The manuscript must be written in English. It should be neatly typed, doubled-spaced with 2.5 centimeters side margins, and paginated. The maximum length of the manuscript is 35 pages. This length includes references, tables and all figures.
- SUBMISSION OF AN ARTICLE
Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
- SUBMISSION OF AN ARTICLE
- ABSTRACT
The abstract should be a concise summary of the article stating the methods used, the main results and the conclusions in a way that does not require reference to the body of the paper. The abstract should not be longer than 400 words. - FIGURES
Maps, photographs, drawings, graphs, and schemes should be referred to as figures. All figures must be numbered consecutively. High quality copies of the originals of all figures must be provided on separate sheets which must be placed after the References. On the back of each figure clearly label the figure number. Each figure must have an explanatory caption, and all figure captions should be typed on a separate sheet labeled, "List of Figure Captions".
- FILE FORMATS FOR DIGITAL SUBMISSION OF FIGURES
- Vector Graphics
Please note that the preferred format for vector graphics is Encapsulated Postscript (EPS). Each EPS file should include an 8-bit preview/header at a resolution of 72dpi. Fonts should always be included/embedded. Preferred fonts are Arial, Helvetica, Times, Courier and Symbol. If the EPS figure contains bitmap images, the bitmaps should be of good resolution when color is involved, and it should be encoded as RGB. - Bitmap and Greyscale Images
For bitmap and grayscale images the preferred format is Tagged Image File Format (TIFF). TIFF supports several good compression schemes ensuring that file sizes are kept to a minimum to aid in file transfer and storage. - Resolution for Digital Figures
Digital image files should be supplied at the correct resolution. The minimum resolution for line artwork should be 1000dpi, for halftone artwork 300dpi, and for combination artwork (line/tone) 500dpi).
- Vector Graphics
- DIMENSIONS OF EACH FIGURE
Each figure must be prepared to conform to specified image area dimensions. The maximum allowable WIDTH of each figure is 16.5 centimeters. The maximum allowable LENGTH of each figure is 24 centimeters. - MAPS
As noted in 3.0, maps are considered as figures and must have a scale, north point, and appropriate locational identifiers (for example, latitude and longitude). For dimensions of maps see subheading 3.2. - COLOR FIGURES
Color figures (i.e., maps, photographs, drawings, graphs and schemes) SHOULD NOT be submitted unless you are prepared to pay the reproduction costs. A color charge fee, payable in advance of publication, will be applied to each figure submitted for publication in IJEES.
- FILE FORMATS FOR DIGITAL SUBMISSION OF FIGURES
- TABLES
Tables must be prepared to have WIDTH dimensions of not more than 16.5 centimeters, and LENGTH dimensions of not more than 24 centimeters. Tables must be numbered consecutively, and submitted on separate sheets which must be placed after the Figures. On the back of each table clearly label the table number. Each table must have a caption, and all tables captions should be typed on a separate sheet labelled, "List of Table Captions." - CAPTIONS
Each figure and each table must have an appropriate caption. Captions for figures and tables must be typed on separate sheets. - EQUATIONS
Equations must be numbered consecutively in the right-hand side of the page where they appear for the first time. Care should be taken to distinguish symbols used in equations and formulae. Also, differentiate letters and numerals. - FORMULAE
- All formulae should be presented consistently and clearly with regard to the meaning of each symbol and its correct location. Formulae must be typed throughout.
- Please try to keep the notation as simple as possible, and avoid ambiguities. Do not use special typefonts if there is no urgent need to do so.
- Different formulae should be clearly separated in the manuscript, at least by punctuation marks, if not by words. Avoid breaking formulae if breaking is not strictly necessary (i.e., if the equation is less than one typed line). Never let a sentence consist of formulae alone (i.e., without any connection with the preceding text).
- Do not use complicated juxtapositions of symbols. Also, try to avoid complicated subscripts and superscripts; third‑order indices especially present difficulties as to their size and position, and fourth‑order indices are not recommended.
- The manuscript must show a clear distinction between similar symbols, (e.g., between zero (0) and the letter O, between one (1) and the letter l, and between multiplication () and the letter x).
- Important formulae (e.g. definitions) must be displayed. All formulae which are to be referred to later on must be displayed and numbered consecutively throughout the paper; the number should appear on the right‑hand side of the page.
- In chemical formulae the valence of ions must be given.
- Isotope numbers should precede the symbols.
- SYMBOLS
Explain all symbols used in the manuscript. Prepare on a separate sheet(s) a List of Symbols, and associated explanations, and place it after the Tables. - TERMINOLOGY AND UNITS
Authors should use IUGS terminology. The use of SI units is also recommended. - ABBREVIATIONS
Abbreviations SHOULD NOT be used if they are likely to cause ambiguity or will not be readily understood by an international readership. - REFERENCES
- All references cited in the text are to be listed at the end of the paper. The manuscript should be carefully checked to ensure that the spellings of authors' names and publication years are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list. Do not type author's and editor's names in capitals.
- In the text refer to the author's name (without initials) and year of publication, followed ‑ if necessary ‑ by a short reference to appropriate pages. Examples: ABecause Lakhan (2004) mentioned that...@. AThis is in agreement with results obtained later (Lakhan, 2005, pp. 266‑270)@.
- If reference is made in the text to publications written by more than two authors the name of the first author should be used, followed by Aet al.@. In the list of references names of authors and all co‑authors must be given in full.
- References in the text should be arranged chronologically. The list of references should be arranged alphabetically by authors' names, and chronologically per author. If an author's name in the list is also mentioned with co‑authors, the following order should be used: Publications of the single author, arranged according to publication year ‑ publications of the same author with one co‑author, arranged according to publication year ‑ publications of the author with more than one co‑author, arranged according to publication year.

- Company clearance, if applicable, should be acquired prior to submission.
- Submission of a paper for review is interpreted as a statement that the permission to reproduce and company clearance, if applicable, have been acquired.
- The manuscript of a paper intended for publication in the journal may be reproduced and used elsewhere by the author, with the understanding that no use will be made of the material for commercial purposes.
- Once the paper has been prepared in publication format by the publisher, the permission of the publisher is required for any use of the paper.
